Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Bevy app for macOS (“Bevy”) and this website, getbevy.app. If you have a question about it, email support@getbevy.app.

What Bevy collects

Nothing. Bevy has no account system and contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking code. The app is built without network access (it ships without the macOS network entitlement), so it cannot send anything to us or to anyone else. On the Mac App Store its privacy label is Data Not Collected.

What stays on your Mac

Everything Bevy works with is stored locally, on your Mac, and only there:

• Captures and recordings are saved as ordinary files in the folders you choose: your Bevy folder, or a project folder you point a deck at.
• Bevy's library (deck names, titles, captions, the text read from captures, and settings) is kept in Bevy's own app container on your Mac.
• Smart Image Text puts the text it reads on your clipboard, as any copy does. When you click a link or QR code it found, macOS opens it in your default browser or mail app; from there, that app's own policy applies.

On-device intelligence

Bevy reads text in captures with Apple's Vision framework and, on Macs that support Apple Intelligence, suggests names and captions with Apple's on-device models. All of this runs on your Mac. Bevy does not send your captures to Apple, to us, or to any AI service.

Permissions

Bevy asks macOS for only what it needs, when it needs it:

• Screen Recording: to take screenshots and recordings when you press a shortcut or choose a capture command.
• Camera and Microphone: only if you turn them on for a screen recording. They're off otherwise.
• Files and folders: only the ones you pick in an Open or Save panel, such as your Bevy folder.
• Launch at login: only if you turn it on in Settings.

You can change or withdraw any of these at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security.

When your data leaves your Mac

Only when you choose to send it: by dragging, copying, sharing, zipping or exporting captures or decks into another app, such as an AI chat. What happens to it after that is governed by that app's or service's privacy policy, not this one.

Deleting your data

Captures are regular files, so deleting them in Bevy or in Finder removes them (Bevy moves them to the Trash first, so you can undo). To remove everything, quit Bevy, delete the app, your Bevy folder, and the folder ~/Library/Group Containers/86K423ZGWJ.app.getbevy.

This website

getbevy.app uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. It is hosted by Vercel, which, like any web host, processes basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Vercel's privacy policy. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.

Children

Bevy collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If Bevy ever starts collecting any data, we'll say so plainly before it does.
